At MathSolvi ("we," "our," or "us"), we are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application ("App").
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Account Information
When you create an account, we collect:
- Email Address: Required for account creation and authentication
- Full Name: Collected during registration (optional for Apple Sign In users)
- Authentication Credentials: Securely stored passwords or OAuth tokens
1.2 Usage Information
We automatically collect information about how you use the App:
- Subscription status and purchase history
- App features accessed and frequency of use
- Device information (iOS version, device model)
- Session data and authentication tokens
1.3 Math Problem Data
When you use the App to solve math problems:
- Photos: Images of math problems you capture or upload are processed by AI but are NOT permanently stored on our servers
- Chat Messages: Math problems and questions you type are sent to OpenAI for processing but are not stored long-term
- Solutions: AI-generated solutions are displayed to you but not stored in your account history
Important: We do NOT permanently store your math problems, photos, or chat history. These are processed in real-time and then discarded.
1.4 Payment Information
Payment processing is handled entirely by Apple App Store. We do NOT collect or store:
- Credit card numbers
- Billing addresses
- Payment method details
We only receive subscription status information from Apple and RevenueCat (our subscription management service).
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide and maintain the App's functionality
- Authenticate your account and manage your session
- Process subscription payments and manage your subscription
- Send you important updates about the App (if you opt in)
- Respond to your support requests
- Improve the App's performance and user experience
- Ensure security and prevent fraud
- Comply with legal obligations
3. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services that may collect or process your information:
3.1 Supabase (Authentication & Database)
- Purpose: User authentication, account management, and data storage
- Data Stored: Email, name, authentication tokens, account metadata

3.2 RevenueCat (Subscription Management)
- Purpose: Managing subscriptions, purchase history, and subscription status
- Data Stored: User ID, subscription status, purchase history

3.3 OpenAI (AI Processing)
- Purpose: Processing math problems and generating solutions
- Data Sent: Math problems (text and images) are sent to OpenAI's API for processing
- Data Retention: OpenAI may retain API data for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring, then deletes it

Note: We do NOT use your data to train OpenAI's models. Your math problems are processed for immediate solutions only.
3.4 Apple (Sign In & Payments)
- Purpose: Apple Sign In authentication and payment processing
- Data: Handled according to Apple's privacy policies

4. Data Storage and Security
4.1 Data Storage
Your account data is stored securely on Supabase's servers, which use industry-standard encryption and security measures. We retain your account information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services.
4.2 Security Measures
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information:
- Encryption of data in transit (HTTPS/TLS)
- Secure password hashing (bcrypt)
- Authentication tokens with expiration
- Regular security audits and updates
4.3 Data Retention
- Account Data: Retained until you delete your account
- Math Problems: NOT stored permanently (processed and discarded)
- Chat History: NOT stored (session-only)
- Subscription Data: Retained for accounting and legal compliance purposes
5. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:
5.1 Access and Portability
You can access your account information through the App's Account screen. You may request a copy of your data by contacting us at support@mathsolvi.com.
5.2 Correction
You can update your account information (name, email) through the App's Account settings.
5.3 Deletion
You can delete your account at any time through the Account settings in the App. Account deletion is permanent and will remove:
- Your account and authentication data
- Your subscription information (subscription must be cancelled separately through Apple)
- All associated user data
Note: Some data may be retained for legal or accounting purposes as required by law.
5.4 Opt-Out
You can opt out of non-essential communications by adjusting your notification preferences in the App settings.
5.5 GDPR Rights (EU Users)
If you are located in the European Union, you have additional rights under GDPR:
- Right to access your personal data
- Right to rectification of inaccurate data
- Right to erasure ("right to be forgotten")

6. Children's Privacy
MathSolvi is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately at support@mathsolvi.com, and we will delete such information.
If you are between 13 and 18 years old, you must have your parent's or guardian's permission to use the App.
7. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do NOT sell your personal information. We may share your information only in the following circumstances:
- Service Providers: With third-party services (Supabase, RevenueCat, OpenAI) necessary to provide the App's functionality
- Legal Requirements: When required by law, court order, or government regulation
- Protection of Rights: To protect our rights, property, or safety, or that of our users
- Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets (with notice to users)
8. International Data Transfers
Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence. These countries may have data protection laws that differ from those in your country. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your data in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
9. Cookies and Tracking
The App does not use cookies or similar tracking technologies. We use authentication tokens stored locally on your device to maintain your session.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by:
- Posting the updated Privacy Policy in the App
- Updating the "Last Updated" date
- Sending you a notification (for significant changes)
Your continued use of the App after such modifications constitutes acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
11. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to:
- Know what personal information is collected about you
- Know whether your personal information is sold or disclosed and to whom
- Opt out of the sale of personal information (we do not sell your information)
